Information We Collect

AI Cost Bar does not collect any personal information from users. We do not collect, store, or process any data such as names, email addresses, phone numbers, or any other personal identifiers.

We believe in privacy by design - our app is built from the ground up to respect your privacy and minimize data collection.

Web Calculator Analytics

Our free web-based calculator tool at aicostbar.com/calculator uses Google Analytics to help us understand how visitors interact with the website. This analytics service may collect information such as:

  • Your IP address (anonymized)
  • Browser type and version
  • Device type and screen information
  • Operating system
  • Time spent on pages and site usage patterns
  • Referring source

This information helps us improve the web calculator experience and understand our users' needs. Important: Google Analytics is only used on our web-based calculator and is not implemented in our distributed macOS or iOS applications.

Pricing Data Synchronization

AI Cost Bar connects to our servers to synchronize the latest LLM pricing data for models from OpenAI, Anthropic, DeepSeek, and Azure. During this process, our backend server automatically records access logs. These logs may include information such as:

  • Your device's IP address
  • Date and time of access
  • Type of device and browser being used
  • Specific API endpoints accessed

This information is used solely for maintaining the security and performance of our services and is not linked to any personal data.

Custom Models & Local Storage

When you add custom models or pricing information to AI Cost Bar, this data is stored locally on your device only. We do not have access to, collect, or transmit any custom pricing models or calculations you create in the application.

This means your custom pricing configurations, favorite models, and calculation history remain private to your device.

Use of Access Logs

The access logs are used for the following purposes:

  • Ensuring the security and integrity of our backend server and API
  • Monitoring and analyzing the performance and usage of our app
  • Troubleshooting and improving the app experience
  • Tracking the frequency of pricing data updates
